Covered linear regression notes. Students were asked to pre-load the data and we worked on an otherwise empty notebook.

Preparation for next class (Tuesday, October 27)

  1. Read the notes on coordinate reference systems and vector data formats. Most of it should be review from EDS 223. We will have some questions to test your understanding of key concepts at the start of the next class.

  2. In the eds220-in-class repository in your personal computer, create a directory called data (you may already have it).

  3. πŸ‘Ύ Confirm the data folder is not being tracked by git.

  4. Download the directories ca_state_boundary and gbif_sus_scrofa_california from our shared drive. You should have a file structure similar to the one below.

  1. Download this notebook and make sure you can run the first couple of cells to import the data. You can adjust the file paths as needed.
